US rapper George Michael was killed in a self-inflicted gunshot wound, an inquest has heard.
The death of the American rapper was declared a homicide on Thursday, according to the Coroner’s Office in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Mr Michael, 33, was found dead in his home in Los Feliz, California, on July 31, 2018.
The coroner ruled that he was shot at least three times and that the bullet struck his head and exited through his right eye.
According to reports, the singer’s death was ruled a suicide, though a spokesperson for the coroner’s office told the Associated Press the coroner does not yet have an explanation for how the rapper died.
His death came at the end of a difficult period for Mr Michael, who was already struggling with depression, drug addiction and a legal battle with his record label.
He had been working on a new album, which was due to be released this year.
He was also a regular fixture on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
