The pontiff will hold a meeting of the Opus genevas, the Vatican’s answer to the Nobel Peace Prize and a nod to his personal legacy, to honor Wagner’s life and work.
The Opus Geneva meeting is being held in the Vatican gardens in the Palazzo di Santa Maria d’Oro in Rome’s Palazzino neighborhood.
It will be held Monday through Thursday and will feature Wagner as one of the participants.
Pope Francis has called Wagner one of his “greatest mentors,” and he praised his achievements and the pontiff’s desire to see “an honest and true approach to peace.”
