The music of Weird Al Yankovich, whose career is inextricably linked to his appearance, is no less than the cultural phenomenon he created.
He made his mark as a voice in hip-hop and jazz, as a singer, and as a musician, from his days on the stage to the stage.
Now he’s putting it to good use as a television star, appearing on several series.
But in a new interview, the musician and singer reveals why he thinks the way people dress is just as important as their appearance, and what it’s like to be a part of an industry that celebrates and embraces individuality.
“I think the most important thing to understand about fashion is that the thing that makes it cool is the clothes you wear,” Yankovics told Business Insider in a lengthy interview.
“People think of the ’90s and the hip-hopper thing.
That was a fashion trend.
But it’s also very real, because people have to be comfortable with themselves.”
Yankovs response to people’s choices in clothes speaks to the idea that fashion is an individual choice, not a collective one.
In the same way, it’s a way to celebrate individuality, rather than one that reinforces an outdated stereotype.
“When I was growing up, I had a lot of friends who were not the same as me, so it was more of an expression of what was different between us,” Yanks, 54, said.
“Now, it has more to do with what people think about us.”
Yanks’ style choices and his role in the fashion world aren’t new, though.
“It was something that we did from the very beginning, and I have a lot more of a passion for it,” YANKOWITZ said.
The comedian, who’s been in the public eye for decades, also opened up about how his celebrity is shaped by the people who surround him.
“I’ve never had a show where people have said, ‘We think this is weird,’ and that’s kind of scary,” he said.
The idea that Yankovsky is a “bigoted” person is not accurate, YANKOVICS said.
“He’s one of the greatest comedic characters that’s ever lived.
People have known him since he was a little boy.
People know him in the same ways they know Woody Allen, but they don’t necessarily know him that way,” Yansky said.YANKOVIC said his first taste of fame came when he appeared on the sitcom “Mork and Mindy,” in which he was part of the comedy troupe.
He later appeared in several films, including “Kinky Boots” and “The Great Gatsby.”
He was nominated for a Tony Award in 2001 for best comedy actor for “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.”
“I was really surprised to get the nomination, because I had been nominated by a variety of people,” YANKEY said.
He added that the “Kissy Boots” nomination came “with a lot less expectation than I was expecting.”
“The people who nominated me and got me the nomination are very smart people, and it’s really funny to see that.
It’s not that I’m a jerk, I’m not,” he added.
“But it’s not like they have a problem with it.
People get it, it makes them laugh, and they understand that it’s just the way that they are.”YANKOWITS FAMILYS: HIS KISS KICKS, A LITTLE MURDERED and HIS GIRL FRIENDHISTORYYANKYASKOVIC’S parents, Larry and Patricia, are both of Italian descent.

“That’s how I remember her.
She was crying and I was trying to comfort her.
It was really hard to comfort someone who was in such a bad state.”YANDAKOVICH’S GIRLS HISTORY: HER GIRLBOSS AND AUSTIN’S DEATHYANNY’S PENISEHISTORY : HER GIVEAWAYSHISTORY YANDPACKERHEAD’s sons, James and Dylan, are also famous actors.
